Effective November 1, 2004, a new and simpler price schedule allows to calculate the software license price for Store Operations, Headquarters, and QuickSell 2000 products based on the total licenses owned by the customer rather than on the number of licenses per store.

The most significant changes to the Microsoft Retail Management System pricing is:

  • Customers can buy exactly what they need.
  • The discount structure rewards customers that buy additional licenses for future expansion at the time of purchase.
  • The single unit price and typical per lane cost for small retailers will be less.
